Therapy for Christian Women Struggling with Porn
You are not the only one, and you don't have to carry this alone anymore.
If you're reading this late at night, hoping no one finds out you searched for it
Maybe you've promised God, and yourself, that this was the last time. Maybe you've tried accountability apps, deleting everything, and praying harder, and you keep ending up back in the same place. Maybe the shame afterward feels worse than the behavior.
And maybe you've never said any of this out loud, because every conversation about porn at church was aimed at men. It's easy to believe you must be the only woman who struggles with this.
You're not. Research from Barna and Pure Desire Ministries found that about 4 in 10 Christian women view pornography. Most of them carry it in silence.
Online therapy for Christian women who struggle with porn
I'm Abbrielle Schenck, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate in Texas. I work with Christian women who are struggling with porn, compulsive sexual behavior and the shame that comes with them. Sessions are online, so you can meet with me from anywhere in Texas without sitting in a waiting room.
This isn't about willpower, and it isn't about being lectured. Together we'll look at what's underneath the behavior: what porn has been doing for you, what it helps you avoid or numb, and where shame keeps the cycle going. When you understand that, change stops feeling like a fight you keep losing.
What we can work on together
Breaking the cycle
Breaking the cycle of porn use, masturbation or compulsive sexual behavior
The shame, secrecy and isolation that keep you stuck
What's underneath the behavior, such as loneliness, stress, anxiety, trauma or past hurts
How and when to tell a spouse, and how to rebuild trust if they already know
Faith and sexuality
Messages from purity culture that left you with more fear than clarity about sex
Your relationship with God when you feel like you've failed Him again
A healthier, shame-free understanding of your body and sexuality
Faith is welcome here, and so are your questions
I'm a Christian therapist, and I'm glad to bring Scripture and prayer into our work if that helps you. It's always your choice. Some women want faith at the center, and some are wrestling with God and need space for that. Both are welcome. You won't be judged, and you won't hear spiritual clichés.
You don't have to figure this out alone
Reaching out might be the hardest part, so let's make it small. Book a free 15-minute call, or call or text (469) 609-1879. I'd be honored to walk with you.
What working together looks like
A free 15-minute call. You tell me as much or as little as you're comfortable with, and we see if I'm the right fit.
Your first session. We talk about your story, what you've tried and what you want to be different. I'll explain how confidentiality works so you know what stays private.
Weekly sessions. Each one is 50 minutes, online, at a pace that feels manageable.
Cost: $100 per session. I'm a private-pay practice and don't bill insurance.

Questions women often ask
Is porn addiction a real struggle for women?
Yes. Many women struggle with porn and compulsive sexual behavior, but it's rarely talked about, so women often feel like they're the only one. The struggle is real, and so is the help.
Do I have to stop before I start therapy?
No. You don't have to have it under control to begin. Most women start therapy right in the middle of the struggle, and that's exactly the right time.
Will anyone find out?
What you share in therapy is confidential. There are a few legal exceptions, such as a risk of serious harm, and I'll walk you through them in your first session. Sessions are online through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform, so no one sees you walking into an office.
Do I need to be a Christian to work with you?
No. I work with women of all backgrounds. Faith is part of therapy only if you want it to be.
Can my husband be part of this?
If and when you're ready. Some women work on this individually first. I also offer couples therapy for couples rebuilding trust and intimacy after porn has affected their marriage.
Is this therapy or a support group?
Both are available. Individual therapy is one-on-one and goes at your pace. The Women's Circle is a small group with other women walking the same road. Many women do both.
Do you take insurance?
No. I'm a private-pay practice, and sessions are $100.
