Therapy for Christian Women Figuring Out Who They Are
You don't have to keep being who everyone needs you to be.
If you've lost track of who you are
You've spent years being who everyone needed you to be: the good daughter, the dependable friend, the one at church who has it together. You're good at it. People rely on you.
But somewhere in your 20s or 30s, a quieter question started to surface: Who am I, really, underneath all of this? Maybe you don't know what you want, only what you should want. Maybe you say yes when you mean no, and then feel resentful and guilty for feeling resentful. Maybe your faith feels more like a set of rules you're trying to keep than a relationship with a God who knows you.
You're not lost, and you're not behind. You're ready to meet yourself.
Online therapy for Christian women finding themselves
I'm Abbrielle Schenck, a Christian therapist (LMFT-Associate) in Texas. I work with women in their 20s and 30s who are working through identity, self-worth and the pressure to be everything to everyone. Sessions are online, so you can meet with me from your home office or anywhere in Texas.
Together we'll look at the stories that shaped you: your family, your church, your relationships and your culture. Then we'll sort out which ones are really yours. This isn't about becoming someone new. It's about becoming more fully who God made you to be.
What we can work on together
Knowing yourself
Figuring out what you actually want, need and value
Separating your identity from family, church or relationship roles
Big transitions in your 20s and 30s, such as career, singleness, marriage or moving
People-pleasing and self-worth
Saying no without guilt, and setting boundaries that hold
Quieting the inner critic and perfectionism
Feeling worthy without having to earn it
Faith, body and sexuality
Asking hard questions about faith without fear
Healing from purity culture and shame about your body
A relationship with God that feels like freedom, not performance
You don't have to figure this out alone

Faith is welcome here, and so are your doubts
I'm a Christian therapist, and I'm glad to bring Scripture and prayer into our work if that helps you. It's always your choice. Some women want faith at the center. Others are wrestling with God and need room to do that honestly. Both are welcome here, with no judgment and no pat answers.
Questions women often ask
What if I don't know what I want to work on?
That's completely okay, and very common. Many women start with "I just don't feel like myself." We'll figure it out together.
Is this a quarter-life crisis?
Maybe. Your 20s and 30s are full of big transitions, and it's normal to question who you are during them. Therapy helps you move through that season with clarity instead of panic.
Is it okay to have questions about my faith in therapy?
Yes. Questions aren't the opposite of faith. I'll never push you toward or away from God. I'll help you explore what you believe and why.
Do I need to be in crisis to start therapy?
No. Many women come to therapy because they want to grow, not because something is falling apart.
Do you take insurance?
No. I'm a private-pay practice, and sessions are $100.
